As of today, I’ve been in Ukraine for a year. I can’t believe it, can you? Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Peace Corps Ukraine Group 39ers, I hope this year has been as challenging and rewarding for you as it has been for me : ) A special congrats and thanks to my cluster and link mates—I don’t think I would’ve made it to the one-year mark in Ukraine without your friendship, support, and love : )
So how am I celebrating my 1 year anniversary? Getting caught up on my blog! As of today, I’m completely up to date. For most of the summer I’ve been behind, and blogging in fits and spurts, but now I’m caught up to the present time, and from now on (hopefully) I’ll only have to write one blog entry at a time : ) Thanks for reading despite the gaps in my updates!
My school gave me a “happy anniversary” present, not even knowing that today I’ve been in Ukraine a year—a SCHEDULE! It still needs a little tweaking, but it made my day to receive a written schedule with my daily classes on it. Such a welcome, unexpected treat : ) This year I’m teaching 2nd-11th grade, so it’ll be challenge. On the upside, I only have to teach one first period lesson, so that means most mornings I get to sleep in a little. I’m a happy camper! : )
I also celebrated my anniversary by rewarding myself with a new CD that I’ve been dying to download. One of my favorite bands, Blind Pilot, just released a new CD called We Are The Tide and its definitely worth $10 on i-Tunes. I think its definitely going to be the soundtrack to my fall. Here’s a preview of my favorite song on the CD, which has the same name as the album—“We Are The Tide.” Enjoy!
